Course websites are often outdated, pricing and teaching styles are unclear, and reaching a coach can mean sending a text or email and hoping for a response. The interest is there: research suggests only about 17% of core golfers took a lesson in the past year, even though 64% consumed online instruction. The gap is not just motivation. The experience is confusing and fragmented. For coaches, the business side is just as inefficient. Many depend on courses for demand and may give up roughly 30% of their lesson revenue, while still handling inquiries, scheduling, student records, and follow-ups themselves. A typical coach may uses four to six disconnected tools to manage their business, plus texts, emails, direct messages, etc. It's a mess. Approved coaches can appear in BirdieYard search results, local golf lesson pages, and relevant course pages. Golfers can learn about each coach’s experience, teaching style, lesson options, location, and pricing before submitting a Smart Lesson Request. The coach can then reply, propose a time, or continue the conversation directly through BirdieYard.

BirdieYard is free for coaches to join during the launch period. You can create your profile, appear in the marketplace, and manage lesson requests without a monthly fee. Optional paid tools or marketplace fees may be introduced later, but pricing will always be clearly communicated before anything changes.
A Smart Lesson Request gives you useful information before you reply, including the golfer’s experience level, goals, preferred location, availability, and lesson needs. It helps replace vague messages like “Do you teach lessons?” with a qualified request you can actually act on.
