Frequently asked
The short version of what Handrail is and how to use it.
- What is Handrail?
- Handrail is a community for indie builders shipping projects with AI tools like Cursor, Claude, v0, and Replit. You share what you're building, get feedback from peers, and discover which tools are working.
- Who is Handrail for?
- Solo founders, indie hackers, and small teams using AI-assisted coding tools to ship products. Whether you write every line yourself or vibe code the whole thing, you belong here.
- Is Handrail free?
- Yes. Public projects, profiles, and tools are free to browse. To participate in the Lobby and other community actions, publish one project with a title, summary, stage, and at least one tool.
- How is Handrail different from Product Hunt?
- Handrail is focused on the building process, not just launch day. You can share projects at any stage — idea, beta, or shipped — and conversations center on the AI tools and workflows builders actually use.
- Do I need to be technical to use Handrail?
- No. Handrail welcomes vibe coders, non-technical founders, and anyone using AI tools to build software. If you can describe what you made, you can share it.
- How do I get started?
- Create a free account and share a public project with a title, summary, stage, and at least one tool. Once it is published, you can enter the Lobby and meet builders working on problems like yours.
